Why do we go to conferences and trade shows as attendees? For most business travelers, there are three things: doing business, making contacts and learning. But the fact is that many events fail to recognize the importance of the third part, the education. Sure, if you make a new contact or gather a lead that leads to new business, you’ve made a case for your attendance at the event. But that’s thinking short-term only. The long-term is where you make a company a success. And for that, you need to be the one who can look ahead, make good predictions and see trends before they happen.
The IoT Certification Series will begin with an overview of the opportunities in the IoT market, and how they can be capitalized upon. Then we’ll move to bringing you the knowledge about IoT edge devices. Finally, we’ll close the loop by showing you how to bring platforms and applications together to find the win.
One of the things I’m most excited about is the discussion of realistic market potential. We hear lots of different prognosticators predicting trillions in revenue, billion of devices and very little to defend the positions. We will look at realistic numbers, and how the industry will get there, based on today’s deployments. Hard facts, not imagination and hope, are what’s on the docket here.
There’s a lot to cover, and this is a survey course, but it’s valuable stuff, so take a look, get registered and bring home the bragging rights that you’ve got the certification.
