When it comes to IoT, the developer community needs the carrier to help mask the complexity. Verizon is offering a hands on workshop at IoT Evolution on Monday January 22nd that will enable developers to take advantage of the network interfaces specifically designed for IoT.
4G LTE Cat-M1 as a standard matches the requirements for a great deal of IoT applications that include everything from asset management to weather monitoring. More importantly, Cat – M1 has low power consumption designed for field deployments enabling field forces to focus on operations rather than maintenance.
IoT is an ecosystem experience and Verizon has brought Renesas and Nokia with them to show how “Verizon’s ThingSpace platform along with Renesas Synergy™, the industry leading embedded development platform with Arm® based microcontrollers and our 4G LTE Cat-M1 wireless network from Nokia, can help you design, develop, deploy and manage your IoT solutions more easily, cost effectively and most importantly securely.”
At this workshop, after a review of the 4G LTE Cat M-1 standard, implementation techniques and platform consideration, you will learn how to leverage:
- Verizon ThingSpace & LTE Cat-M1 connectivity
- Renesas Synergy™, a complete & qualified platform to accelerate embedded development
- Nokia LWM2M device management & data collection.
“All workshop participants will receive FREE IoT development hardware worth $288 in value ($199 – LTE Cat-M1 modem, $59 – Renesas Synergy™ S5D9 base board with Arduino header, $30 – SEGGER J-Link® Lite for Renesas Synergy™) and 30-days of complimentary access to a Verizon IoT developer line of service for LTE Cat-M1 development.”
The workshop fee is $49
